Cleaner Conveying. Lower Maintenance. Improved Reliability.

The Air Supported Conveyor Technology Powered by Grisley is designed to reduce maintenance requirements, improve material containment, and enhance overall conveying performance. By replacing conventional carrying idlers with a cushion of low-pressure air, the belt glides smoothly through the conveyor, reducing friction, wear, and many of the common maintenance challenges associated with traditional conveyor systems.

Suitable for aggregate, mining, industrial minerals, food processing, packaging, and other bulk material handling applications, this innovative conveyor technology helps operations improve reliability, reduce operating costs, and maintain cleaner conveying environments.

Key Benefits

Material Containment and Dust Mitigation

The completely enclosed conveyor design helps contain conveyed materials, reducing product loss, minimizing housekeeping requirements, and supporting cleaner operating environments. This is especially beneficial for dust-generating materials, as the system greatly reduces airborne particulates at the source.

Lower Maintenance Requirements

With no carrying idlers to inspect, replace, or maintain, operations can significantly reduce routine maintenance activities and associated downtime. By eliminating one of the most common conveyor maintenance points, facilities can focus resources on productivity rather than component replacement.

Improved Belt Life

The air cushion reduces belt-to-component contact, minimizing wear and helping extend belt service life. Reduced friction contributes to longer-lasting conveyor components and lower lifecycle costs.

Increased Reliability

Fewer moving components mean fewer potential failure points, resulting in more consistent conveyor performance and improved operational uptime. Smooth belt support also promotes stable operation and improved tracking.

Reduced Operating Costs

Lower maintenance requirements, fewer replacement components, improved belt life, and reduced cleanup efforts contribute to a lower total cost of ownership over the life of the system.

Enclosed Conveyor Design

The enclosed construction helps protect conveyed materials from external contamination while improving housekeeping and maintaining a cleaner operating environment. This makes the Air Supported Conveyor an excellent solution for applications where cleanliness and product containment are critical.

Applications

  • Aggregate and mining operations
  • Sand and industrial mineral processing
  • Food processing facilities
  • Packaging and consumer goods manufacturing
  • Grain and agricultural products
  • Industrial bulk material handling
  • Dust-sensitive conveying applications
  • High-maintenance conveyor runs
  • Material transfer points
  • New conveyor installations focused on long-term operating cost reduction
  • Retro-fit applications for improving existing equipment

How It Works

Unlike traditional conveyors that rely on carrying idlers to support the belt, the Air Supported Conveyor utilizes a cushion of low-pressure air beneath the belt. This air film supports the belt and conveyed material while reducing friction and eliminating many of the wear points associated with conventional conveyor designs.

The result is smoother operation, improved belt tracking, reduced maintenance, and enhanced system reliability.

Designed to Solve Common Conveyor Challenges

Traditional belt conveyors require ongoing maintenance of carrying idlers and are often challenged by dust generation, belt wear, spillage, and component failures. The Air Supported Conveyor eliminates many of these common issues by replacing mechanical support components with proven air-support technology.

The result is a cleaner, more efficient conveying system that helps reduce maintenance costs, improve reliability, and lower total cost of ownership.
